Manuel A. Mejía has over 25 years’ experience in Financial Services. He began his career at Citibank N. A. in its Executive Management Program which led to the Commercial Lending Division as an Assistant Manager. After his years in Banking, he transitioned into Wealth Management and Retirement Planning with Morgan Stanley, reaching the position of Vice President. Also, as Vice President with Popular Securities, a subsidiary of Banco Popular Puerto Rico, he managed wealth and investment portfolios of High Net Worth clients, Corporate accounts, Qualified Plans and Endowment accounts.

Manuel is keen in helping others, may it be his clients or his community. He has successfully represented his employers in corporate social responsibility and has participated actively in initiatives to enhance both socioeconomic and entrepreneurship ecosystems.

His leadership in community affairs has been an important part of his life. He has held numerous positions in several organizations: Chairman of the Board of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce with 33 board members and over 1,700 multi-sectoral memberships with a gamut of Fortune 500 companies to self-employed professionals. At the Chamber of Commerce, he is the founder and president of the Scholarship Fund for Disable Students. A past board member of the Boys Scouts of America Puerto Rico Council and of “School to Work” federal aid program. He has also been active in the Rotary Club, United Way, Sol Isolina Ferré Centers for the Disadvantage, among others.  He is currently President of PROOF, a community and business organization.

Manuel has a Bachelor in Science in International Business from the University of New Haven CT. He is an avid tennis player, enjoys playing golf, music, traveling, and cherishes being with family and friends. He is married to Mirena Bird and has an 18-year-old son, Manuel Enrique.
